Ladies and Gentlemen:
The launch of 3.5G which we are witnessing today is the end-result of a very clear strategy to continuously add value to our customers, and in so doing, contribute to the socio-economic development of Nigeria. As an organization, we are humbled that despite the challenges of our operating environment, we are today blazing the trail in unveiling a world of manifold possibilities to Nigerians.
Our evolution to 3.5G is indeed a very key part of our network growth strategy. In the months to come, 3.5G coverage will become available in an incremental manner across growing parts of our country.
At the same time, however, we will continue to build and consolidate additional capacity on our pre-existing 2.5G platform. So while we assure our customers of a world class service quality on the traditional platform, we are making it possible for our customers to enjoy the benefits of a fast evolving digital age, should they choose to migrate to the 3.5G platform which MTN is today pioneering.
As leaders in innovation in the telecommunications industry, we are obliged to ensure that the full complement of services obtainable from cutting- edge technology is accessible to customers on the MTN network.
I am always full of thanks to the Nigerian media especially within the context of the objectivity and skill with which you continue to report Nigeria’s growing telecommunications industry. Thank you very much for your contributions to the industry through your critical appraisal.
